About the Team
Kevan Dobbie
Private Guide / Wildlife Photographer
‘When passion combines with art.’ - that’s what I am about.
My name is Kevan Dobbie, wildlife enthusiast and keen wildlife photographer.
I have had this strong passion and urgency to be and live in the bush from a young age.
Knowing so, I decided to study something which aligned with this, a bachelor’s degree in
Nature Conservation.

Soon after completing my diploma I was drawn to the lowveld (Eastern side of South Africa).
Working in a few well-known Private Game Reserves, I gained experience initially in reserve
management and later in the hospitality industry as a guide & head guide.
This was quite a big change for me - going from a very introverted lifestyle to a career
which requires one to talk for a living.
I overcame this and developed people skills that I never thought I had in me.
I started out working at one of the most prestigious game reserves in South Africa.
It was during this time that I developed a love for wildlife photography.

In the years that followed I worked in the Timbavati, Kalahari and Northern Kruger National
Park before going back to where it all began, back in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve at one
of the best known wildlife game viewing reserves in the world.

After ten years experience as a field guide I have decided to share some of my insight with
the world which is what 'Kevan Dobbie Wildlife Photography' is. Not only do I seek to educate
people about wildlife, African travel destinations, different habitats and what they include but
I aim to create a special bond with every client I encounter.
